OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Billy had the dream of owning his own repair shop since he was a small child. He finally took the leap of faith while still working at his Father's restaurant, Dad's Biscuit Barn. He was able to build a name for himself in the afternoons after work and a loyal customer based followed rather quickly. This lead to him to being able to open the shop up full-time once his Father retired and sold the cafe.
That little country shop has now grown into two different locations and a name that has been recognized all over NEGA in the car community.

THE MEchanic
BillyAs a third generation mechanic, Billy, has had a wrench in his hand since a little after he started walking. You could find him following behind his Father day and night in the shop. Once he learned the basics he started working on their dirt track car and his love of all things cars started to develop rather quickly. He took on his first paying job at the age of 12 for a friend of his father. Everyday for a little over a week when he got off the school bus he worked tirelessly to change the motor, transmission, and wiring harness in an Chevy S10. When that job was finished it instantly led to his second job where he took apart an old Dodge Power Wagon, got it running, and put a new model frame under it. He still handles all of those first customers automotive repairs to this day. Billy has locally been dubbed "The Chevrolet Man" for his endless knowledge on new and old model Chevrolets. Customers have traveled from several Northeast Georgia counties and several parts of Atlanta to have their vehicles repaired and engines rebuilt by Segars Garage. His current project is a complete restoration of 1968 Convertible Camaro. |
SecretaryKayla
Kayla's first memory is of her around age 4 standing up in the front seat of a Box Chevy Monte Carlo SS while her Dad was doing drags down their long driveway. That is the day she realized she loved going FAST. Like Billy, she grew up following her Dad around late nights at their shop working on his hot rods. After attending car shows and NASCAR races for much of her childhood, the car community was all she has ever known.
After just a little time around Segars Garage, Kayla’s love for car quickly developed into a love for learning and rebuilding Chevrolet engines. Coincidentally, her Father ran a machine shop in his younger years so it must have been fate after all. Between her Father, Billy, and her Father-in-Law “Dad” she has an endless supply of knowledge just few feet away at all times. Kayla buys a lot of engine assemblies and engine parts to resell at swap meets around the southeast. Check out her stock if you run into her at a show! Around the shop she sources parts, answers the phone, and handles the paperwork part of the business. After hours if work is backed up she can even be seen assembling Chevrolet engines for customers or for fun. Her current project is an E85 Carbureted 6.0 LS engine, maybe with a shot of nitrous. |
